Mahniya Humphrey came into this world seven months ago with challenges. She had “aqueductal stenosis,” a blockage in her brain between two ventricles. Fluid compressed her brain, taking up most of her skull and pressing her brain into a small sliver of space against the bone.
She also had a vast extended family of friends — because her father, grandfather and great-grandfather were all coaches and spent much of their lives in Lantana and Lake Worth.
What: Lantana Reunited Third Annual Reunion-Benefit-BBQ Bash
When: 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Saturday
What: Three bands, a barbecue with domestic and imported German beer, raffles and prizes. All proceeds to benefit the medical care of Mahniya Humphrey.
Where: American German Club, 5111 Lantana Road, just west of Haverhill Road.
Cost: $10 donation at the door.
